About Riyasatkar

Coming from a middle-class Brahmin family in Gowil village, Ratnagiri, Govind Sakharam Sardesai completed his schooling locally before pursuing higher education in Pune and Mumbai. In 1889, he began working for the princely state of Baroda, quickly gaining the trust of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III. Sardesai was appointed the Maharaja's personal secretary and later became a tutor for the royal princes. G. S.
